Gifts Grooves and a Touch of the Gothic

This month’s market falls on Bonfire Night and you’ll find plenty of delicious seasonal food and drink to warm you as the nights draw in. Treat yourself to sausage rolls, handmade pies, a fudgy vegan brownie or tea and crumpets. Spice things up a bit for lunch with some Guyanese or Caribbean street food, Thai curry or Cajun gumbo, all sourced and prepared locally.

It might feel early but we’re officially entering gift season and you’ll find something special for everyone from our pick of the best designer makers in the south west. Snuggly blankets and knits, beautiful home fragrances and homewares, exquisite sustainably made jewellery, original prints direct from the artists and stunning ceramics. Browse Catherine Hill, through the Market Place, across the Bridge, Justice Lane, through the Flea and Homes and Gardens, then round to The Westway.

We’re bringing a touch of the Gothic to the Village Green this month with talented local photographer, Martin Wade and his Cabinet of Curiosities. Pick up one of Martin’s limited edition cards and prints and marvel at his amazing collection of animal skulls and skeletons.

As ever we’ve got the legendary Vintage Mobile Disco on the Village Green and a great lineup of live music on the Busking Stage:

11.00 – 11.30 Willow Williams

11.45 -12.15 Charlie Greenwood

12.30 -1.15 The Meltones

1.30 – 2.15 Rock Choir

2.30 – 3.00 The Band of Pilgrims

Our charity this month is the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. You can buy a poppy from their stand by the Library or donate directly via their website.
