In The Summertime at The Frome Independent
It’s high summer and the perfect month for fresh local fruit, vegetables and salads. You’ll find our food producers through the Market Place and Stony St, with Somerset Farmers’ Market around the Boyle Cross fountain. Fill your basket with delicious ingredients for relaxed summer suppers or picnic lunches.
There’s always a festival feel to The Frome Independent but especially so in summer. Enjoy live music from the Market Stage or browse the Flea and Homes & Gardens markets to the sound of vinyl classics from Vintage Mobile Disco. We have a huge selection of irresistible street food plus award winning ciders, hedgerow cordials and fresh lemonade. Treat yourself to a fresh and fruity Mexican ice lolly, vegan gelato or an old-fashioned scoop or two of Somerset ice cream.
After the success of last year’s Photo Frome ‘Faces of Frome’ project we are very pleased once again to host their pop up photography studio next to Frome Library and the Village Green. The project invites residents and visitors to have their portraits taken, contributing to a unique photographic archive.
Look out for our July charity partners, Somerset and Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, who will be collecting throughout the market.
As ever we’ve a great line up of live music on the Market Stage:
11am – Grateful – A broad mix of acoustic covers
11.45am – Anonymous Sauce – Crowd-pleasing covers from the 80s and 90s up to present day
12.30pm – The MellowTones – Up tempo original songs
1.30pm – The John Lime Blues Trio
2.30pm – La Casa Maya – Funky World Music
Sunday 2nd July 10am-3pm
