Marvellous May at TFI
Celebrate the month of May in style with the incredible Boss Morris, at The Frome Independent. If you haven’t experienced them before, you’re in for a real treat. Expect loads of colour and energy, funked up folk tunes and their unique, modern take on this ancient folk tradition. They’ll be on the Bridge by The Blue House at 11.30am, then on The Village Green at 1pm.
This May we’re delighted to welcome Purple Elephant as our partner charity, best known as the amazing people behind Frome’s fabulous Children’s Festival, The Toy Library, holiday activities and lots more. Find them round by the library and our Village Green where they’ll have some fun things on offer and look out for their volunteer collectors throughout the market. https://www.purpleelephant.org.uk/
Frome has a long history as a market town, proudly continued by all our present-day markets, but have you ever wanted to know a bit more? From this month, visitors to The Frome Independent can join free guided walks, led by Frome Heritage. Learn a brief history of the town, discover more about some of our historic buildings and the people who’ve shaped our town. The walks will begin in Justice Lane at 12.00, 1pm and 2pm and will last approximately 45 minutes.
As always we have a great live music line up on the market stage:
11.00 – 11.30 Cathy Judge and Johnny Francis – self penned and easy listening covers
11.45 – 12.15 Boudicca’s Child – Three part harmonies, sax, flute, guitar and a bit of bass and drums
12.30 – 1.15 Jazz Morley – Frome based soulful singer-songwriter
1.30 – 2.15 The Bad Cowboys – close harmonies and catchy tunes, full of poignant, satirical and sometimes funny lyrics
2.30 – 3.00 Saxmo – acoustic versions of pop songs and ethereal sax
Join us on in Frome on Sunday 7th May from 10am – 3pm.
