Over the last few years Catherine Hill has become a hub for boutique independent shopping and on market Sundays it has also been home to our Suitcase Sale.
The Suitcase Sale was conceived of as a diminutive market-within-a-market, and initially about twenty traders colonised the cobbles of St Catherine’s. It has now expanded to almost fifty traders and spills into picturesque Cheap Street and onto The Bridge.
It is home to fledgling and established traders, offering an eclectic mix of products including everything from wild garlic pesto, organic cosmetics, locally produced honey, prints & illustrations, jewellery, dolls clothes and even unicorn hobby-horses – if it fits in a vintage suitcase (or pram) you’ll find it here.
The Suitcase Sale is also a chance for young designers and entrepreneurs to test the market with their ideas. We support and subsidise this cohort of under 26 year old traders through reduced pitch fees and temporary insurance cover each month.
If you love to explore new ideas and support future talent then it’s waiting to be discovered at the Suitcase Sale.
