TRADER PROFILE-GRATE

We asked Will Comben about his business, GRATE, and about trading at The Frome Independent:

“Grate is a celebration of Somerset’s artisan cheeses. This land that we call home is a cheese-making nirvana, and its lush pastures support one of the most dynamic communities of cheese-makers in the world, not to mention being the home of the world’s favourite cheese – Cheddar! We champion this culture through our ‘posh cheese toasties’.

Ours is a modern British take on this humble classic. Our menu changes with the seasons and we typically showcase a new seasonal special every month at the Frome Independent.

Frome to us is our favourite Sunday of the month; it’s vibrant, friendly and family-orientated, and you feel like part of a community when you are there. We seldom get a chance to explore much anymore (we are usually too busy!), but favourites among the other traders are Worley’s Cider and Brickell’s ice cream – two amazing Somerset producers making exceptional artisanal goodies.”

You’ll find GRATE in the Market Place at The Frome Independent on Sunday 1st October 10am – 3pm (between Grounded Coffee and The Hedgerow Drinks Bar)
