If you need proof that Frome is a hotbed of creative talent, you need look no further than local designer-maker Nick Fraser.

Nick has become a Frome Independent market stalwart and produces a range of contemporary interior products and furniture. His playful designs brilliantly combine functionality and character using a diverse range of materials and processes. All his products are manufactured in the UK with a large proportion being made by hand in his studio.

After completing his 3D Design degree from Plymouth University, Nick Fraser formed his company in 2007 amongst the creative community of Falmouth in Cornwall. He continued to develop his business in East London for three years before setting up his own studio in Frome Somerset where he has been ever since.

Nick’s products sell in many countries across Europe, North America and Asia, at world-class retailers such as Liberty, V&A, Heal’s, Paul Smith and The Design Museum. Nick has exhibited at design fairs such as Maison & Objet in Paris, 100% Design in London and his work has been featured in most major broadsheet and interior design publications in the UK and around the world.

“We moved to Frome in 2013 without knowing much about the market and quite honestly the town. After visiting the market for the first time, we were so impressed we thought it was worth taking a stand to see how our products would be received. We had a fantastic response and have been taking part ever since.

The Frome Independent has not only brought a great monthly event to Frome but has also helped set a precedent for the town to support independent, local, ethical businesses and suppliers. I’m very proud to be living somewhere with such great values.”

You can find Nick on a market day in our Designer Maker section in Market Place or visit his website here. Or follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
