As a result of work being undertaken by Network Rail on Portway railway bridge, Portway and Wallbridge (A362) are closed until 24th November. This is causing significant travel issues in Frome at the moment.
We are very aware of how difficult things are for local businesses in the current climate and we want to do everything we can to support our traders and Frome’s amazing shops and venues at what is usually the busiest time of the year. Travel issues this month are going to make the market difficult to manage but we have done everything we can to ensure November’s The Frome Independent can go ahead as planned.
We’re consulting closely with our health and safety advisors as well as local authorities, travel companies and emergency services. We are issuing detailed travel updates and have an additional Park and Ride service from the Andros site in Oldford. We will continue to provide as much information as possible to minimise disruption and ensure market goers have a great day out in Frome.
